A drywall cable grommet gives a cable entry a defined rubber edge, but the surrounding opening still needs enough strength to retain it. Unlike a cleanly punched metal panel, a cut drywall edge can crumble or vary in thickness, making the quality of the opening especially important.
Before selecting the grommet, establish whether it engages the wall material directly or a separate panel or trim piece. Measure the section that will actually sit inside the mounting groove. Remove loose fragments and keep cutting dust away from the cable passage during installation.
ETOL provides custom shapes, sizes, hardness and colors, with NBR and EPDM among the material choices named for this product. Choose those details around the finished entry arrangement instead of expecting a tight rubber fit to reinforce a damaged hole.
Support the cable so it does not repeatedly tug against the wall edge. If the route will be changed during maintenance, leave accessible slack and inspect the seating afterward. This component lines the cable opening; any fire separation requirement must be addressed by a suitable complete wall penetration design.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Unlike a cleanly punched metal panel, a cut drywall edge can crumble or vary in thickness, making the quality of the opening especially important. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
