Product Overview

A rubber keypad for electronics needs to retain its intended shape before it reaches the assembly station. The flexible layout can be distorted by careless storage or handling, making a suitable part harder to locate in its housing. Protecting the keys and connecting webs helps preserve the fit established during sampling.

Keep parts supported without folding the layout or placing a concentrated weight on the key tops. Store the contact side away from dust and sharp loose components. When separating parts for assembly, avoid pulling on an individual key or stretching the narrow rubber between controls.

Custom dimensions, hardness, color and legends can be developed by ETOL around the electronic design. Confirm the required switching arrangement and evaluate the sample with its intended board and enclosure.

Before fitting, inspect the keypad for a twisted edge, damaged web or contamination. It should reach the locating points naturally rather than being pulled into position. After closure, check that keys return and that the visible legends align with the assigned functions. If a stored sample no longer sits correctly, inspect its condition before using it to judge the production tooling or housing dimensions.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Evaluate the grade on a correctly shaped keypad located in its housing; stored distortion must not be mistaken for the intended flexible response.
Custom dimensions
Set the keypad outline and housing locating dimensions using an undistorted part; coordinate the board position with the molded key layout.
Fit & assembly
After closure, check that keys return and that the visible legends align with the assigned functions.
Use & inspection
Before fitting, inspect the keypad for a twisted edge, damaged web or contamination.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
