Match the attachment and installation method
A custom medical grade stopper needs to be developed for a defined medical closure application. Its rubber geometry can be matched to the receiving opening and the method used to fit it during assembly. The engaging section, exposed surface, and removal requirements should be considered together so that handling does not damage the part that forms the closure.
Identify the surfaces that may contact the device contents and those handled during installation. The selected compound and finished process must be appropriate for those actual conditions. A medical grade designation is specific to the material and application; it does not establish sterility or compatibility with every processing method.
The closure should seat consistently without excessive insertion force or scraping at the opening edge. If equipment installs the part, its handling contact should avoid deforming the sealing region. Check the finished assembly through the intended processing and use conditions. Keep components protected from contamination before fitting, and reject pieces with nicks, embedded debris, or an altered profile that could interfere with their intended seating.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The closure should seat consistently without excessive insertion force or scraping at the opening edge. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
