Product Overview
Rubber grommets for electrical wires cushion the point where each lead crosses the enclosure. Terminal fitting and connector assembly should not use the grommet as a reaction point that holds the cable in tension while work is performed farther along it.
ETOL can customize structure, material, dimensions, hardness and color. Plan enough accessible cable length for the assembly sequence and choose the passage around the finished covering. Match the retained section to the actual panel rather than relying on wire tension to keep the rubber located.
Support the lead during termination, then let it relax before its final clips are secured. Inspect the entry for stretching or a lifted flange after each operation that pulls on the cable. Electrical insulation requirements remain part of the complete cable and equipment design alongside this mechanical protection. During rework, release the appropriate supports before pulling a lead out, and check the bore for damage from terminal edges before threading it again. Replace a nicked grommet before the enclosure is returned to service.
