Product Overview

A rubber gasket seal for jar lids can be molded in silicone and should stay in position while the lid is placed or turned into closure. The ring's flexibility can help it follow the seat, but excessive stretch or a loose retaining arrangement may let it shift. The lid and jar rim should be considered together.

Custom dimensions, hardness and color allow the flat seal to match the closure. Define the supported width and section thickness using the actual sealing land. Select the silicone formulation for the contents, temperature and cleaning conditions.

During fitting, work the gasket evenly around the seat and inspect for a rolled edge before closing the lid. Check that the ring has not projected unevenly from the perimeter afterward. Evaluate the finished closure for its intended storage orientation and operating conditions. During cleaning, inspect both flat faces and remove residue from the lid recess. If the gasket repeatedly slips out of place, review the retaining fit and closing movement rather than using greater lid force to hold a displaced ring.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. If the gasket repeatedly slips out of place, review the retaining fit and closing movement rather than using greater lid force to hold a displaced ring.
Custom dimensions
Define the supported width and section thickness using the actual sealing land.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
