Product Overview

A silicone suction cup forms the workpiece interface in a vacuum gripping arrangement. Its rim must conform to the surface sufficiently to limit air leakage, while the cup connection must suit the holder and vacuum supply. Choosing the cup in isolation leaves important parts of the gripping problem unresolved.

Start with the surface to be handled: texture, curvature, local ribs, and available contact area influence where a seal can form. Next consider the direction of movement. A vertical lift and a sideways transfer place different demands on the contact, particularly when acceleration changes or a part rotates during travel. Cup diameter alone does not establish an allowable payload.

Trial the intended workpiece in the complete gripping setup, including the actual approach motion and release sequence. Watch for a rim that folds unevenly, excessive part deflection, or a delayed release that disturbs placement. Surface contamination can change results between trials, so cleaning conditions should represent routine production. Replace a cup when its sealing edge becomes nicked or permanently distorted rather than compensating indefinitely with longer vacuum application.

Material options
Custom silicone compound; formulation and geometry developed together.
Hardness selection
Silicone options: 20–80 Shore A. Watch for a rim that folds unevenly, excessive part deflection, or a delayed release that disturbs placement.
Custom geometry

Fit evaluation
Trial the intended workpiece in the complete gripping setup, including the actual approach motion and release sequence.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; OEM markings outside the suction contact face.

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
