Product Overview

Custom silicone rubber push buttons can form part of a keypad developed for an enclosure with water protection requirements. The moving keys and the surrounding protective interface need to work together. A correctly seated perimeter should not hold the keys partly depressed or restrict their return.

Assess the complete housing closure, including the keypad edges and other device openings. The rubber component alone does not establish a waterproof rating. The key clearance and internal support should be reviewed with the enclosure secured exactly as intended. A fit that is free before fastening may become restricted if the surrounding sheet is compressed incorrectly.

The molded shape and size can follow the product layout. Choose the compound for the actual environment and cleaning conditions, then evaluate the finished assembly under the intended exposure. During maintenance, inspect both the moving edges and the perimeter for damage or deposits. Restoring only the visible key surface may leave a displaced closure edge elsewhere in the keypad assembly.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. A fit that is free before fastening may become restricted if the surrounding sheet is compressed incorrectly.
Custom dimensions
The molded shape and size can follow the product layout.
Fit & assembly
Restoring only the visible key surface may leave a displaced closure edge elsewhere in the keypad assembly.
Use & inspection
During maintenance, inspect both the moving edges and the perimeter for damage or deposits.

Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly

04

Produce & inspect

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
