Match the attachment and installation method
Custom silicone stoppers can be developed for openings that encounter elevated temperature. Size, hardness and profile are selected around the mating component, while the silicone formulation follows the actual thermal exposure. The temperature at the closure and the duration of contact are necessary parts of that selection.
Repeated heating and cooling should be considered alongside the hottest operating condition. The stopper may be fitted cold, used at a different temperature and removed later, so its seating and handling requirements span that sequence. Check the closure in the intended process with the actual contents and receiving surface. Leave a practical way to remove it without damaging the exposed head or contacting a hot surrounding part. Clean away deposits using a method compatible with the chosen formulation, and inspect for a change in shape or fit before reuse. A hotter application calls for a suitable material and complete closure arrangement, not simply a harder plug or a larger insertion diameter. Keep replacement parts matched to the defined process conditions.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A hotter application calls for a suitable material and complete closure arrangement, not simply a harder plug or a larger insertion diameter. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
