Match the attachment and installation method
Rubber seal covers for industrial equipment should have a clearly defined contact edge around the opening they protect. The cover body may provide access or handling space, but the perimeter must match the seat closely enough to perform its intended closure role. Silicone plug configurations can be selected for smaller openings where an inserting profile is more appropriate.
Check the surrounding hardware, available removal space, and the substances present at the equipment location. The selected compound should suit the operating temperature and cleaning exposure. Where the cover must seal against a fluid or pressure difference, evaluate the completed contact and retention arrangement under those conditions.
Fit with the edge aligned and free of trapped debris. Avoid pulling a large cover into position from one narrow corner, which can distort the perimeter before the rest of the part seats. During service, inspect the contact band and any handling feature for damage. Keep replacement covers supported during storage so a distorted edge does not make the next installation unnecessarily difficult.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
