Product Overview

Numeric keypads use a defined arrangement of number keys to support repeated entry on an electronic product. A custom rubber keypad can place those controls within the available panel area, with size, color, and legends developed around the interface. The number layout should remain recognizable in the product's normal operating orientation.

The spacing and exposed height of the keys affect how easily a finger moves from one number to the next. Review common entry sequences rather than testing only isolated presses. The user should have clear physical targets, and pressing near the boundary of one key should not unintentionally operate its neighbor. Edge keys deserve attention where the panel border changes the finger approach.

Silkscreen printing, embossed or debossed details, and color-filled markings are available for identifying the keys. Keep the numerals within the visible surface after assembly, with enough separation between fine strokes. Any additional function keys should be distinguishable without disrupting the familiar number group.

The molded sheet needs accurate location over the chosen switching arrangement. Check the keypad with the enclosure secured and confirm that every key returns freely after a sequence. Clean handling during fitting helps keep the underside free from particles that can interfere with seating or contact operation.

Material options
Rubber. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Rubber: 30–90 Shore A. The user should have clear physical targets, and pressing near the boundary of one key should not unintentionally operate its neighbor.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
