Product Overview

A mechanical silicone keypad gives a remote controller a physical operating surface with molded buttons arranged for the required functions. Button spacing, height, and the shape of surrounding rubber can be customized to suit the enclosure. Color and embossed or engraved identification provide further options for distinguishing controls.

The layout should reflect how the remote is held. Frequently used keys need accessible positions, while nearby secondary controls need enough separation to reduce unintended presses. A large button face can be easy to find, but its underside still needs proper support so that a press near the edge reaches the intended mechanism.

Develop the keypad alongside the front housing. Opening sizes influence side clearance, and the housing's internal supports affect how much the common mat can move. Check the feel after assembly rather than judging a loose keypad alone. Exercise the controls while holding the remote normally, including one-handed operation if that is part of its design.

Keep the rubber seated at its locating points when the case is closed. Tightening the housing onto a folded edge can change key travel or hold a control partly depressed. Clean the exposed buttons with a method suitable for the finished device and its printed or molded markings.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Frequently used keys need accessible positions, while nearby secondary controls need enough separation to reduce unintended presses.
Custom dimensions
Button spacing, height, and the shape of surrounding rubber can be customized to suit the enclosure.
Fit & assembly
Check the feel after assembly rather than judging a loose keypad alone.
Use & inspection

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
