A rubber silicone plug can be customized in different sizes for a family of openings. Each size should retain the geometry appropriate to its own mating component. Enlarging every feature by the same proportion may change insertion effort, accessible gripping area or the distance that the body extends into the assembly.
Separate the dimensions that control fit from those that provide handling space. The body needs to suit the bore, while a head or shoulder must clear surrounding features. A deeper opening may call for additional engagement length without requiring a larger exterior. The available custom shape, color and material choices allow these details to be considered individually.
For a product range, keep replacement identification tied to those working dimensions. Two plugs with similarly sized heads can have different bodies and should not be treated as interchangeable. Check each version in its actual opening and inspect the seating after the surrounding components are installed.
During reuse, clean the contact surfaces and examine the inserted region for damage. Store removed sizes separately when several closures are serviced at once. This keeps a convenient visual match from becoming an incorrect fit and reduces unnecessary force during refitting.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A deeper opening may call for additional engagement length without requiring a larger exterior. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
