A push in grommet for a wire harness needs a retaining profile matched to the panel opening and thickness. Pushing the visible flange flat is not enough if the hidden lip has folded inside the hole. The full seating relationship should be checked before the harness is arranged around it.
Define the cable passage around the completed bundle, including any wrapping or sleeve. Connectors may influence when the grommet is installed in the assembly sequence. The rubber should protect the intended edge without being used as the only support for harness weight or pulling forces.
Fit into a smooth cutout and inspect the rear lip where access allows. Route the bundle so its exit bend does not lever one side of the grommet out of the opening. During servicing, look for jacket wear at the passage and restore the original route after a connector is moved. Reassess the fit when bundle size changes instead of assuming the original central opening remains appropriate.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Pushing the visible flange flat is not enough if the hidden lip has folded inside the hole. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
