Rubber silicone feet can provide replaceable contact points beneath a chair, separating its hard structure from the floor. The mounting arrangement should keep any screw or rigid feature away from that contact surface throughout the foot's intended compression. A recessed fixing must remain suitably recessed after the chair is in use.
Match the foot shape to the actual leg end or receiving recess. A bumper-style foot attaches differently from a cap that encloses the leg, and the chosen part should follow the chair's intended construction. The material and contact face also need evaluation on the floor finish where the chair will stand.
Check all supports once fitted, including those hidden beneath angled legs. If a fixing becomes the lowest point, review the assembly rather than continuing to rely on the surrounding rubber. Clean away embedded grit during routine care. Replace worn feet before their reduced thickness lets a screw head or other rigid part approach the floor, even if the remaining rubber still looks securely attached.
