Product Overview

Silicone prototype key buttons can support development of an industrial-machine interface before the final molded configuration is selected. Each sample should be identified by its geometry and material so changes in operating feel can be related to the design being evaluated.

Fit the prototypes into a representative panel with the intended contact and support arrangement. Keep fastening and surrounding clearances consistent when comparing versions. A different enclosure condition can alter the response and make it harder to assess the effect of a revised key profile.

Evaluate realistic operating sequences and the press positions required by the machine interface. Check access, movement and return, including neighboring controls. Any final markings or surface treatments should also be assessed before the production version is accepted, because a prototype without those features does not establish their behavior.

Avoid untracked trimming or added spacers during comparison. If a sample is modified to investigate a fit issue, keep that condition distinct from the original molded part. The final selection should reflect the complete panel and electrical arrangement rather than only the appearance or softness of a loose prototype.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Check access, movement and return, including neighboring controls.
Custom dimensions
A different enclosure condition can alter the response and make it harder to assess the effect of a revised key profile.
Fit & assembly
Fit the prototypes into a representative panel with the intended contact and support arrangement.
Use & inspection
The final selection should reflect the complete panel and electrical arrangement rather than only the appearance or softness of a loose prototype.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
