A rubber damper for equipment should remain correctly positioned during operation and ordinary servicing. Access to a nearby cover or fastener can unintentionally bend or pull the rubber if the assembly leaves little working space. Consider those maintenance movements when defining the component's profile and location.
The intended working section should be clear of tools and moving enclosure edges. A tear-resistant material selection does not make the part immune to cuts from a screwdriver or a sharp bracket. The compound and geometry also need evaluation for the actual operating duty, without an assumed load or damping rating.
When opening the equipment, avoid using the rubber body as a handle or temporary support for an adjoining part. Restore its attachment and alignment before closing the enclosure. Inspect for a nick or displaced edge after servicing, especially where access was restricted. Replacing an already damaged component before operation can prevent the next working cycle from extending a small handling cut through the intended compliant section.
