Rubber dampers can be developed for a component that remains loaded or for an interface that meets another surface only during movement. Those conditions need different design attention. A continuously compressed part establishes a working support height, while an occasional contact part must meet the approaching surface at the intended position.
Custom materials, dimensions and colors allow the damper to follow the application. Define the load direction, contact area and available deformation space before selecting a profile. The surrounding structure should provide the necessary retention and keep the rubber from being loaded at an unintended edge.
Evaluate the completed arrangement through its representative movement and operating conditions. Check whether the rubber remains centered, whether contact occurs evenly and whether nearby rigid features interfere before the intended working position is reached. During maintenance, compare permanent deformation with the original contact geometry. A lasting flattened area can change how the assembly rests or when contact begins. Investigate repeated edge damage before changing only the compound or increasing the size of the damper.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A continuously compressed part establishes a working support height, while an occasional contact part must meet the approaching surface at the intended position. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
