Neoprene rubber cable grommets cushion a cable at the edge of a panel passage. The custom profile can be selected around the finished opening and cable jacket, with the neoprene formulation suited to the actual environment. The panel's coating is part of the fit, not simply a cosmetic detail.
Measure and inspect the hole after painting or other finishing. Build-up along the edge can narrow the retaining region, while loose coating can become trapped under the rubber. Prepare the boundary so the grommet rests on a stable surface without being stretched to overcome an irregular opening.
Check the cable's approach and exit once its supports are installed. The jacket should not pull the inner passage hard toward one side. During assembly, seat the rubber independently before using the opening for the cable. Inspect for cuts or a rolled lip after threading. If the panel is refinished during service, reassess the grommet engagement before reuse. Preserve the intended compound and groove dimensions when replacing it so the protective contact remains appropriate to the finished panel.
