Product Overview

A chloroprene rubber cable grommet sits between the cable and its supporting opening, often with different conditions on each side of the panel. Select the compound around both sides of that location, including any fluid splash, cleaning substance, or temperature difference. The panel interface and the cable contact should then be matched as a single installed geometry.

Measure the cable covering where it passes through, not at a smaller exposed section farther along the route. Check the retaining groove against the finished edge thickness. If the cable leaves at an angle, provide space for the bend so its natural position does not keep lifting the outer lip.

Fit the grommet evenly and inspect behind the panel before access is restricted by other components. Secure the cable separately where normal tension would otherwise act on the entry. During maintenance, look for changes in the rubber surface alongside signs of rubbing. Distinguishing exposure related deterioration from mechanical damage helps guide the right correction at the next installation.

Material options
Custom rubber compound and color, selected for the contact conditions and required geometry.
Hardness range
30–90 Shore A for rubber. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: If the cable leaves at an angle, provide space for the bend so its natural position does not keep lifting the outer lip.
Custom profile & fit
Check the retaining groove against the finished edge thickness.
Assembly considerations
Select the compound around both sides of that location, including any fluid splash, cleaning substance, or temperature difference.
Design check
Fit the grommet evenly and inspect behind the panel before access is restricted by other components.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
