An EPDM flat grommet provides a custom protective interface where a cable crosses a panel and the exposed profile needs to fit within limited space. Silicone alternatives and other rubber constructions should remain explicit choices rather than assumed equivalents. The mounting groove and available clearance determine the useful fit.
Check the gap to any cover or adjacent part on both sides of the panel. A liner can look flat at the front while its rear flange touches hardware after closure. Match the wall thickness and leave the cable passage suitable for the intended route. Custom dimensions and color can follow that arrangement. Fit the grommet without trimming the flange to clear an unexpected obstruction, then inspect the assembly after the nearby cover is installed. During maintenance, look for a polished or compressed patch that shows unintended contact. Correct the surrounding interference before replacing the rubber, so the new low-profile part remains supported by its own retained geometry.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Correct the surrounding interference before replacing the rubber, so the new low-profile part remains supported by its own retained geometry. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
