An NBR rubber oblong wiring grommet fits a shaped panel opening with a molded retaining profile. The elongated outline and central passage can be customized around the wiring arrangement. The cutout length, width, end curvature, and panel thickness should be established before choosing the hardness and detailed profile.
A softer part may be easier to fit, but it should not be stretched to compensate for the wrong opening dimensions. The retaining groove needs to engage around the whole outline, including the curved ends. Seat the grommet evenly, then inspect it after the wires are routed and secured in their final positions.
Select the NBR formulation for the actual contact substances and temperature at the penetration. Keep the panel edge free from burrs, and account for the wire jacket or bundle wrapping in the bore fit. If a connector must pass through during assembly, plan that sequence without forcing it across a thin edge. Following maintenance, confirm that the wiring has not rotated or pulled the grommet from its intended orientation.
