Product Overview

A pharmaceutical rubber stopper is a custom closure component that must be matched to the intended container and use conditions. Its body, seating surface, and exposed head should follow the container opening and the selected retention arrangement. Material selection is part of the complete container-closure development.

The stopper should reach its intended seat without excessive distortion or a folded edge. Review the fit with the actual container finish and any adjoining closure hardware. The component must remain correctly positioned during the handling and processing defined for the finished product. A similar nominal diameter does not establish interchangeability between different closure profiles.

The selected compound requires assessment for contact with the intended contents, the contact duration, and any cleaning or processing applied. The complete packaging system needs to establish suitability for its pharmaceutical use. A general rubber or silicone description does not by itself establish sterility, chemical compatibility, or a universal processing method.

Protect the contact surfaces from contamination and damage throughout assembly. Inspect the seating area and thin transitions before fitting, using the handling method established for the finished system. Replacement or reuse should follow that system's defined process rather than assume that an intact-looking stopper remains suitable for another application.

Material options
Custom silicone or rubber formulation; select the compound alongside the mating geometry.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A; solid rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Its body, seating surface, and exposed head should follow the container opening and the selected retention arrangement.
Custom geometry
Material selection is part of the complete container-closure development.
Fit evaluation
Inspect the seating area and thin transitions before fitting, using the handling method established for the finished system.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; OEM identification positioned outside closure contact surfaces.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
