A silicone rubber blanking grommet closes an unused panel opening with a retained flexible part. This custom offering also names plastic and PVC alternatives, so the finished material should be selected explicitly rather than treated as one interchangeable construction. Different materials can require different insertion and retention behavior even with similar outer shapes.
Define the hole profile, wall depth and area available for the exposed flange. The center should provide the intended closure without needing to be stretched across an oversized opening. Trial the selected material in the actual panel and check that the far retaining edge has settled fully. Keep nearby cables or hardware from pressing against the back of the blank. During service, inspect the center and mounting lip separately for damage. If the opening is later needed for a cable, fit an entry designed for that route rather than puncturing the blanking part. Preserve the evaluated material and dimensions when replacing a closure that has become loose.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. If the opening is later needed for a cable, fit an entry designed for that route rather than puncturing the blanking part. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
