Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A rubber tube insert for steel pipe should be selected from the tube's internal geometry. Ribbed bung options need the profile and material matched to that bore, while the exposed face follows the end of the pipe. The outside pipe size alone may not define the usable internal fit.
Check wall thickness, any internal seam, and the condition of the cut end. These features can affect rib engagement or prevent the insert from reaching its seat. The available depth should also leave room for the full retained section.
Prepare the entrance through the assembly's intended process and remove loose debris. Fit the insert squarely without folding its ribs against a sharp edge. Choose rubber or plastic construction according to the required design and environment rather than treating them as interchangeable. During maintenance, inspect for movement and damage at the exposed face. A replacement should match the actual bore and rib geometry instead of being chosen only by the nominal pipe designation.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A rubber tube insert for steel pipe should be selected from the tube's internal geometry. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
