A vacuum rubber suction cup relies on a continuous contact edge to hold against a smooth, nonporous surface. When air is displaced beneath the cup, the pressure difference helps keep the part in contact with that surface. The practical question for a new application is whether the chosen surface and cup can maintain that contact for the required period, especially when the surrounding conditions change.
For a removable fitting on glass or polished metal, examine the whole intended contact area. Texture, joints, scratches, dust and surface coatings can interrupt the seal even when the surface looks broadly flat. A small sample of the actual finished material is therefore more useful for evaluation than a material name alone. Curvature also matters: a cup that seals on a flat test plate may behave differently on a curved housing.
ETOL offers customization based on drawings or samples, allowing cup geometry, size and material to be discussed as part of the application. Explain whether attachment is brief or prolonged, whether the surface is vertical or horizontal, and how the connected item will be handled. Include expected temperature changes and cleaning practices. Retention should be assessed with the intended mounting arrangement, because cup diameter by itself does not determine an allowable working load.
To evaluate a vacuum rubber suction cup, begin with a clean lip and clean mating surface, establish full contact, and observe the fitting over a representative period. Look for gradual edge lifting as well as immediate release. Repeat the check after normal repositioning and cleaning so the evaluation reflects actual use. Avoid allowing oil, grit or dried residue to remain on the contact edge, and replace a cup whose lip is cut or distorted. Provide the results of the trial when discussing refinements to the production design.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Retention should be assessed with the intended mounting arrangement, because cup diameter by itself does not determine an allowable working load. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
