Electrical rubber wire grommets cover the edges of panel openings used by wiring. The molded rubber provides a separate contact surface so wires do not rest directly against the cutout. Custom sizing can match the entry to the enclosure wall and the intended wire arrangement.
The mechanical fit is especially important when wiring is installed near a thin panel edge. Match the retaining groove to the finished thickness, including coatings, and make sure the central passage leaves room for the wiring without compressing it unnecessarily. A grommet that is loose in the opening can move with the wires instead of remaining in place.
Remove burrs before fitting the insert, then confirm both retaining lips are seated. Route the wiring without tension and provide the separate support required by the electrical assembly. These parts should not be assumed to establish an electrical insulation, fire, or ingress rating on their own. During maintenance, inspect the entry after wires have been moved, particularly where servicing requires repeated access through the panel.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Custom sizing can match the entry to the enclosure wall and the intended wire arrangement. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
