Rectangular rubber plugs need a close relationship between their corners and the corresponding opening. Length and width are only part of the fit: corner radii, wall thickness, and the shape of the retaining section determine whether the closure can seat evenly. A plug may cover the hole from above while binding at two corners underneath.
Compare the actual profile with the cutout and the space behind it. Check whether the head or flange has clearance around nearby features and whether the inserted section can reach its intended depth. EPDM and silicone options should be selected for the relevant exposure rather than treated as equivalent because they share a rectangular shape.
Fit without forcing a raised corner down over an incompatible edge. Inspect the perimeter for rolled material and uneven contact. Any sealing requirement must be evaluated with the chosen formulation and complete mating joint. During repeated removal, watch for corner tears or a distorted retaining section, since those local defects can affect engagement before the broad visible face appears substantially worn.

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
