Product Overview

A Rubber button keypad forms the finger contact portion of a mechanical control arrangement. Its custom size, color and molded identification can be developed around the positions of the underlying switches. Hardness options from 30 to 90 Shore A allow the rubber feel to be considered as part of the complete button design.

Start with the available movement. The key needs to actuate the switch and return without the panel opening stopping its travel prematurely. A tall visible button can still have limited useful motion if a hidden shoulder contacts the housing. Check both central and off-center presses on the assembled panel.

The spacing between keys also affects handling. Leave sufficient separation for the intended fingers, and make sure movement of one section does not pull a neighboring key into contact. Any fastening arrangement should locate the pad without stretching it away from the switch centers.

During use, keep debris out of the gaps around the moving sections. A button that changes its feel after the enclosure is tightened may be caught at the edge rather than worn out. Inspect that interface before replacing the pad, and avoid repeated heavy pressing on a key that no longer returns freely.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
