Rubber collar grommets use a raised retaining region around a panel passage. The collar must have space to lie in its intended position so the rubber can cushion a cable at the cutout. ETOL customizes the structure, material, dimensions, hardness and color for the application.
Check the surrounding panel face for lips, ribs or adjacent fittings that overlap the collar footprint. If another component traps part of the rubber, the grommet can appear secure while its passage is pulled out of shape. Include the final enclosure assembly in the fit review rather than measuring only the bare hole.
During installation, guide the retaining section into place without using a sharp screwdriver against the inner edge. Then examine how the cable sits through the center. It should not pull the collar away from the face as the route changes direction. After servicing adjacent hardware, recheck that the rubber has not been caught underneath it. Replace a cut collar instead of relying on surrounding pressure to hold a damaged part in position.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The collar must have space to lie in its intended position so the rubber can cushion a cable at the cutout. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
