Rubber flexible grommets can deform during installation so their retaining edges settle into a panel opening. This offering includes customization of structure, dimensions, material, hardness and color, with an available material specification described as meeting a UL 94 V-0 flame requirement. The finished choice should bring those material and fit decisions together.
Flexibility is useful when an installer must work a flange through a restricted opening, but the part still needs to remain in place afterward. A very easy insertion can conceal a loose groove. Check retention in the actual panel with the cable routed, rather than judging the rubber only by squeezing it by hand.
For a design that specifies V-0 behavior, retain the selected compound and relevant component dimensions through production. Color or material substitutions should be assessed before they are introduced. The listed flame requirement does not establish a fire resistance rating for the whole enclosure or remove the need to evaluate its other materials.
Avoid cutting away a stiff portion simply to speed up assembly. If fitting repeatedly damages the flange, review the cutout and installation access. A suitable geometry should permit controlled insertion while leaving the protective edge intact around the cable passage.
