Rubber grommet bumpers provide a custom cushioning interface around a cable harness opening. The rubber can soften contact with the panel, but its retaining area still needs firm, correctly shaped support. A loose or uneven opening can allow the entire part to rock instead of keeping the harness separated from the edge.
Examine the panel locally for bending or interrupted seating surfaces. Match the groove to the finished thickness, then choose the central clearance around the wrapped harness. ETOL offers changes to structure, dimensions, material, hardness and color for the installation. Do not use the cable bundle to hold an otherwise loose bumper in its cutout. After the harness is supported, move it through the modest handling expected during assembly and check that the rubber stays seated. If a flange repeatedly lifts at the same place, investigate the opening and the route together. Replacing the part without correcting that local relationship can leave the harness rubbing at the same point again.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The rubber can soften contact with the panel, but its retaining area still needs firm, correctly shaped support. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
