Match the attachment and installation method
A rubber pipe end cap and an internal silicone stopper close a pipe through different mating surfaces. The cap engages the outside, while the stopper fits the bore. Choosing the configuration depends on accessible length, removal space and the closure's intended duty.
Custom dimensions, materials, hardness and colors allow either arrangement to follow the pipe. For an outside cap, check coatings and nearby shoulders that limit engagement. For an internal stopper, define bore condition and seating depth. Neither configuration should be selected solely from the pipe's nominal size.
Evaluate the chosen closure with the complete pipe end and expected handling. Any sealing or pressure requirement needs assessment of the actual retention and operating conditions. Keep contact surfaces clean and remove burrs before assembly. During inspection, look inside an external cap for cuts at the pipe edge and examine an internal stopper for uneven contact around its body. Repeated damage should prompt review of the mating feature and installation method rather than an automatic change to a harder rubber.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. For an internal stopper, define bore condition and seating depth. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
