A rubber spring provides elastic deformation within a custom support or damper arrangement. Its working shape is influenced by the body geometry, material, and way the load reaches it. The part needs sufficient room to change shape without being trapped against the surrounding structure.
Define the normal loaded position before considering additional movement. A support compressed deeply at rest has a different remaining working range from one that begins with little load. The mating faces should support the intended areas and remain aligned with the force direction.
Clearance around the body matters because rubber can move outward as it is compressed. Nearby walls, fasteners, or stops should not constrain that movement unintentionally. Where several supports work together, compare their loaded positions rather than assuming equal loading from equal spacing.
