Match the attachment and installation method
A rubber stopper cap can be shaped to close a pipe hole or a bottle opening, with the engagement profile determined by the mating component. These openings may look similar from above while having different depths, rims, and internal contours. The closure needs to match the surface where contact will actually occur.
For a bottle neck, consider the entry profile and how much of the stopper remains accessible for removal. For a pipe opening, check the wall geometry and any internal obstruction that limits insertion. Decide whether the closure fits inside the opening or over its outside edge before comparing dimensions.
Inspect the mating rim for chips, burrs, or contamination before fitting. The stopper should seat evenly without needing to be forced against a local obstruction. Any requirement involving liquid compatibility, food contact, or pressure must be assessed for the selected material and complete closure under its intended conditions. When reusing the part, check for an altered shape or damaged contact band rather than judging condition only from the exposed top.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. For a pipe opening, check the wall geometry and any internal obstruction that limits insertion. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
