A silicone seal cover is a custom closure whose working shape must suit both the opening and the space around it. On a pipe end or recessed hole, the surrounding geometry can be just as important as the bore itself. A flange may need to clear a nearby wall, while an inserted section needs enough depth to engage without striking an internal feature.
Identify which surface provides the seal and which feature provides retention. They may occupy different parts of the cover, and a visually flush installation does not necessarily mean both are working correctly. Consider how the closure will be removed, especially when the accessible portion sits close to other components.
During fitting, check for interference around the entire cover rather than forcing down the side that remains raised. Local contact with the housing can twist the closure and interrupt its seating surface. Any required resistance to water or other media should be evaluated with the actual mating part. Periodic removal offers an opportunity to inspect that surface for trapped grit, edge damage, or distortion that is less visible while the cover is installed.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Compare inside diameter A with the outside of the part being covered. Check inside depth C and overall dimensions B and D for available clearance. These RSE references show a round cap with one closed end.
