A Rubber strain relief grommet combines an entry profile with a flexible transition intended to manage cable movement. The length and shape of that transition should follow the way the cable leaves the housing, while the panel fit keeps the component located at the opening.
Separate the cable's bending requirement from its retention requirement. A sleeve can guide the first bend, but the complete assembly must also control any pulling load in the manner intended by the equipment design. Choose the bore around the real jacket construction so the entry does not damage it while providing its specified contact.
ETOL customizes material, hardness, dimensions, color and structure. Evaluate the grommet with the actual cable connected at both ends. The direction of a nearby connector or support may change the bend at the sleeve more than its free appearance suggests.
Move the cable through the normal handling range and watch the junction between the sleeve and flange. The bend should be distributed through the intended flexible region instead of forming one sharp hinge at the housing. Look for a lip lifting from the panel when the cable changes direction.
After the cable supports are secured, allow the lead to relax and inspect the entry once more. During servicing, avoid gripping the flexible sleeve to pull a connector free. Release the connection by its appropriate rigid features so removal force does not stretch the rubber transition.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The length and shape of that transition should follow the way the cable leaves the housing, while the panel fit keeps the component located at the opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
