Product Overview

A Silicone gasket seal provides a flexible layer between mating faces. For a flat gasket, the important geometry includes the supported outline, any openings and the thickness available in the closed joint. The product also names a sponge construction, so the intended material structure should remain explicit when selecting the finished part.

Solid and sponge forms should not be treated as direct substitutes merely because they share an outline. Choose the material and thickness around the space that remains when the joint is assembled, including how force is distributed by the mating parts. A gasket that extends beyond its supporting face can deform differently at that exposed edge.

Lay the gasket without stretch before bringing the faces together. Align internal openings carefully so they do not become partially covered as the part settles. Follow the intended fastening sequence and examine for a portion being pushed out of the joint. The custom size, color and rubber choices should be considered with this assembled fit.

When the joint is opened for service, inspect the full gasket rather than only its visible exterior edge. Local crushing, tears near openings or an uneven permanent profile can indicate a support or tightening issue. Clean the faces without leaving fragments beneath the replacement, then verify the intended sealing behavior with the joint complete.

Material options
Silicone or sponge construction, with custom contact outline, openings and color; keep the selected structure explicit.
Hardness selection
A sponge selection can begin around 35–45 Shore C for a balance of yielding contact and support. Compare softer 20–30 Shore C where the closing force is limited. Solid silicone options use 20–80 Shore A.
Custom dimensions
Size the gasket to the supported face and closed gap, allowing the openings to remain clear after compression.
Fit & assembly
Lay the profile flat and align passages before fastening. Prevent a narrow edge from being pushed beyond its support.
Use & inspection
Inspect the full gasket when opened, including hidden regions where localized crushing or tears can develop.

Photos illustrate structure or material only. A sponge gasket needs a supported outline and clear openings within the space remaining when the joint closes. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
