Product Overview

Silicone keypads form flexible controls whose final keystroke depends on the surrounding panel structure. Fasteners and support ribs near a button can influence how its web moves, even when the visible opening appears correct. The clamping layout should therefore be considered with the key pattern.

Identify the areas that locate the sheet and those that need freedom to flex. A rib pressing into an active section can change the feel of one key while neighboring keys remain normal. The underlying switch or contact spacing must also agree with the molded actuator geometry.

Evaluate the equipment with the panel tightened in its final configuration. Check keys near corners and fixing points as well as those in open areas. The silicone component does not independently establish the device's electrical interface or an actuation-force value. During servicing, restore the original seating and keep debris away from supporting faces so a trapped particle or displaced edge does not change the intended key travel after reassembly.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. A rib pressing into an active section can change the feel of one key while neighboring keys remain normal.
Custom dimensions
The underlying switch or contact spacing must also agree with the molded actuator geometry.
Fit & assembly
Fasteners and support ribs near a button can influence how its web moves, even when the visible opening appears correct.
Use & inspection
During servicing, restore the original seating and keep debris away from supporting faces so a trapped particle or displaced edge does not change the intended key travel after reassembly.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
