Round waterproof plugs need a continuous contact path around the receiving opening, with the selected silicone profile retained at its intended depth. The circular shape can simplify orientation, but it does not eliminate the need to inspect the full edge. A folded lip or damaged seat can interrupt contact at a single point around an otherwise well fitted plug.
Check the inserting diameter, usable depth, and exposed handling area. A cover over an outside feature needs its own internal measurements. Choose the formulation for the actual water conditions, temperature, and cleaning exposure, then assess the complete closure under the relevant operating conditions.
Fit on clean surfaces without forcing the part beyond its designed position. Inspect the seating boundary after surrounding hardware is in place. During service, examine the contact band for cuts or persistent distortion. If the closure no longer seats consistently, investigate the receiving feature before choosing an approximate larger plug that may alter the intended contact and make removal more difficult.

Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
