Product Overview

A membrane switch assembly using a silicone rubber keypad needs the actuator and switching layers to work together. The molded buttons provide a flexible finger interface, while the membrane arrangement beneath them determines where and how the electrical input is registered. Alignment between those elements is central to the design.

Establish the contact locations, support surfaces, and available movement before finalizing the keypad profile. The panel should guide the visible buttons without preloading the switching area unintentionally. Any overlay, spacer, or supporting layer included in the complete design can change the assembled height and therefore the button's operating behavior.

Evaluate the full stack after fastening, with attention to off-center presses and reliable release. Check that one button does not deform the adjacent area enough to cause unwanted operation. The silicone component alone does not establish the sealing or electrical rating of the finished interface. During service, avoid creasing or contaminating the underlying layers, and restore the original alignment carefully rather than judging the fit from the visible button pattern alone.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Evaluate the full stack after fastening, with attention to off-center presses and reliable release.
Custom dimensions
Establish the contact locations, support surfaces, and available movement before finalizing the keypad profile.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
