A silicone rubber seal ring should be selected for the temperature at its actual joint, including changes during startup and shutdown. The adjoining components may expand differently as they heat, altering the space around the ring. The useful sealing fit therefore needs assessment through the operating cycle rather than only at room temperature during assembly.
Match the ring dimensions and section to the retaining geometry. Keep enough room for the intended deformation without allowing the rubber to escape into an adjacent gap. Select the silicone formulation around the contacting medium as well as the temperature range relevant to the application.
Install without twist and protect the ring from edges along its fitting route. Close the joint evenly so the initial compression is distributed as designed. After a representative operating cycle, inspect for displacement or a permanent shape change that affects the next closure. If leakage appears only after heating or cooling, investigate the changing joint gap alongside the ring condition rather than simply fitting a larger section.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
