Product Overview

A rubber shock absorber or buffer provides an elastomer contact within a mechanical assembly. The custom molded shape should match the mounting position and the direction of the expected contact. Its behavior depends on the rubber construction, the supported area, and the movement of the adjoining parts.

Define where contact occurs and how much space remains as the buffer is compressed. The moving mass, speed, load direction, and frequency of contact influence the selection. A part that fits the available mounting hole may still be unsuitable if it receives force on an unsupported edge or is compressed beyond the intended range.

Install the buffer on a suitable support and check the complete mechanism throughout its motion. Keep nearby parts from contacting a hard stop before the rubber reaches its intended working position. Any required shock or vibration performance must be established for the complete system rather than assumed from silicone hardness alone. During maintenance, inspect for tears, loosening, or permanent deformation. Correct misalignment or concentrated contact before fitting a replacement so the new part is loaded as designed.

Material options
Custom silicone compound; formulation and geometry developed together.
Hardness selection
Silicone options: 20–80 Shore A. A part that fits the available mounting hole may still be unsuitable if it receives force on an unsupported edge or is compressed beyond the intended range.
Custom geometry
The custom molded shape should match the mounting position and the direction of the expected contact.
Fit evaluation
Install the buffer on a suitable support and check the complete mechanism throughout its motion.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; part identification clear of mounting seats and loaded faces.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
