Small silicone plugs with a hole combine an outer fitting surface with a passage through the body. In a tapered design, the outer section becomes more compressed as it is inserted farther into the opening. That compression can also influence the internal passage, so both features should be evaluated in the installed position.
Define the purpose of the hole before selecting its size. If it carries a tube or another component, compare the passage with that component's finished dimensions and planned assembly sequence. An empty passage serves a different function and should not be treated as a complete blind closure.
The molded shape, material and hardness can be customized. Seat the taper to the intended depth, then inspect the passage for distortion or obstruction. Avoid driving a pointed tool through the hole to make an unsuitable part fit. For serviceable assemblies, allow access to remove the plug without pulling against the item passing through it. Replace a split passage wall before it damages that mating component.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. In a tapered design, the outer section becomes more compressed as it is inserted farther into the opening. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
