A rubber power desk grommet needs enough assembly clearance for the workstation's connectors, not only for the narrower cables left in the opening afterward. A molded plug or adapter can determine the fitting sequence even when the final bundle occupies little space.
Identify which components must pass through the desk and which can be connected after routing. The grommet's retaining profile must still match the desktop thickness once the cables are in place. Do not enlarge the passage by an improvised cut simply to pass a connector that the selected configuration does not accommodate.
Beneath the desk, support the cable route so the weight of a hanging component does not pull continuously against the entry. Check the arrangement after equipment is moved, since a previously relaxed lead may become taut. A rubber liner does not establish water exclusion around an open cable gap; any such requirement belongs to the complete entry. During care, inspect the liner where the largest connectors were passed through for stretching or cuts that could leave the furniture edge exposed.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The grommet's retaining profile must still match the desktop thickness once the cables are in place. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
