A USB Port Rubber Plug covers an unused port with a molded protective insert. Its custom shape should suit the USB interface and the enclosure recess around it. In a recessed port, the portion left accessible to the user can be as important as the part that enters the opening.
Check that the plug can be removed without tweezers or a pointed tool near the connector. The surrounding bezel should leave room for the intended grip while allowing the protective portion to sit correctly. Match insertion depth to the opening instead of pushing until all visible rubber disappears. During a fit trial, include any neighboring cable that narrows access to the port. Keep the inserted surface clean before replacing the plug and inspect it for a split after removal. If the cover repeatedly tilts or works loose, correct the profile rather than packing the opening with an improvised layer.
