Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Custom silicone rubber plugs can be sized for several openings within an assembly. Each position should be defined by its functional profile, including the inserted section, retained area, and exposed face. A single nominal diameter may not describe the differences between plugs used nearby.
Compare the opening depth and surrounding thickness at each location. A plug selected for one hole may stop early or lack the intended retention in another, even if their entrances look similar. Custom color can help distinguish variants when it remains tied to the correct dimensional and material specification.
Select the compound for the actual contents and temperature. Fit each plug on a clean opening and check its seated position before closing adjacent parts. During servicing, keep removed components separated by location so that similar sizes are not mixed. Inspect the engaged sections for damage before reuse. Replacement plugs should reproduce the required complete profile rather than being selected by the visible face or the apparent size of an old, distorted component.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Each position should be defined by its functional profile, including the inserted section, retained area, and exposed face. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
