Product Overview
A rubber hose grommet provides a flexible boundary between a hose and the edge of an opening. FKM or Viton is a material option, with customized structure, dimensions, hardness and color available for the intended hose interface. The selected compound should suit the hose surroundings and any substances that can contact the grommet.
Check the hose in its actual routed shape. A hose under a tight bend may push hard against one side of the protected opening, while movement elsewhere can pull it along the bore. Provide appropriate support so the grommet remains an edge protector rather than the main restraint for the hose.
The hose's outside diameter and the panel fit are separate dimensions. Allow the rubber to seat fully without squeezing the hose into an unintended shape. The FKM wording does not assign compatibility with every fluid or a pressure rating to the complete passage. During inspection, look for rubbing at the hose jacket and for changes in the grommet surface. Review both material exposure and routing if wear is concentrated in one region.
