Product Overview

A waterproof mechanical keypad requires a control surface that moves freely within an enclosure designed for its intended exposure. Holding the silicone perimeter securely should not leave the keys partly loaded before use. The available clearance around the moving sections is as important as the way the outer edge is retained.

Trial the keypad before and after the housing is fastened. Compare key travel and return, paying attention to controls near the edges. If a key begins rubbing only after closure, check the retaining surfaces and alignment instead of assuming the rubber needs to be softer.

ETOL offers custom geometry, color, hardness and legends. Any required resistance to water must be assessed at the finished interface under specified conditions. A product description alone does not establish that the surrounding electronics can be washed or immersed.

During installation, keep the perimeter flat and avoid pulling the key tops to adjust its position. Inspect the underside for trapped particles and confirm operation after the complete fastening sequence. For later cleaning, follow the device's intended procedure and check the rubber for cuts before reassembly. A damaged edge should not be compensated for by simply tightening the enclosure further.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
