A USB Rubber Cap intended for water exclusion has to work with the device housing around it. The connector opening and the surrounding perimeter can present different contact surfaces. Define which surface the rubber is meant to close before selecting the inserted depth or head dimensions.
Trace the boundary around the seated cap. A housing recess, joint or neighboring feature may leave a path outside the area touched by the rubber. Pressing the cap deeper into the connector does not resolve such a path and can interfere with internal features. The design should provide closure contact without relying on pressure against electrical contacts.
Select the silicone formulation for the exposure and care conditions, then evaluate the complete device with the cap fitted in its intended position. Include the actual housing and nearby openings in that assessment. The cap alone cannot establish the performance of the enclosure.
After removal for cable access, keep its mating surfaces clean. Recheck the perimeter when refitting, especially if the housing has been serviced. Replace damaged rubber with the defined configuration rather than changing insertion force to compensate for a disturbed closure surface.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The connector opening and the surrounding perimeter can present different contact surfaces. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
