NBR rubber anti-vibration mounts form part of a support arrangement where the component needs a compliant connection to its base. The custom shape should locate the supported part as well as provide room for rubber deformation. A mount that is soft enough to move but poorly retained can allow the assembly to drift from its intended position.
Consider the forces from attached items, including any connections that pull on the component after installation. The unloaded mounting position may change when the rest of the equipment is connected. Assess the mount in that completed condition, paying attention to sideways displacement as well as vertical settling. Adjacent hard stops should remain clear during ordinary movement unless contact is deliberately part of the design.
